THE MISSION FIELD -
Grace Baptist Church's committee for missions and others is reflected in the emphasis we place upon our denominational missionary outreach both in our local community, our nation and in foreign lands -
We are one of the founding members of the Interfaith Homeless Outreach Council - continuously participating in providing assistance for the homeless of Camden County through:
- Homeless Hospitality Network which provides housing in churches during the winter months.
- Adopt-A-Box, articles for the men in the housing program and
- Pac-A-Sac, which provides school supplies for needy children in the city of Camden, New Jersey.
The Emergency Food Pantry for residents of Haddon Township was created by the church in 1983. Food, as well as financial contributions come from residents, schools, and churches within the township community. The pantry, from its inception, has been staffed soley by volunteers of the church.
Baptist Camp Lebanon - for more than 50 years, Baptist Camp Lebanon has been providing Christian growth experience for young people and adults.
The Fellowship Offering is another outreach of this church and is handled soley by our Board of Deacons. This fund is used to help people in need regardless of who they are or where they may live.
The Alice H. Townsend Mission Society: Comprised, primarily of the women within the church supports missionaries and mission work through LOVE GIFT - a monthly offering which is over and above normal giving devoted totally to mission work of the American Baptist Churches/USA, WHITE CROSS - furnishing supplies needed by our National and International missionaries.
The church, as part of our association with American Baptist Churches in the USA, receives four designated special offerings each year - They are:
- America for Christ, used for mission and ministry work within the United States and Puerto Rico.
- One Great Hour of Sharing, an ecumenical offering that is used to help with disasters and special needs, worldwide.
- World Mission, used for mission and ministry work internationally.
- Retired Ministers' and Missionaries, a response to emergency needs and gifts of appreciation to and for our retired American Baptist Missionaries, Ministers and widowed spouses.
Proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ
